Two women, one Vice-President of the Province of Florence, the other Mayor of Impruneta - together with the Director of the Department of Public Works of the Province Maria Teresa Carosella, another woman - have opened today, March 8, 2011 The first batch of the build bypass Impruneta. Laura Cantini and Ida Beneforti cut with the tricolor ribbon opening it to traffic on the first kilometer of new work in construction. The section opened this morning, 1,021 meters long, starts at the current intersection at "the Desco" on SP 70 "Impruneta" and ends at the resort Fabbiolle. The roadway of the bypass has a width of 9.50 meters, with lanes of 3.50 and a quay side of 1.25. It has also created a platform of 1.50 meters. The total amount of work amounts to over € 3 million (€ 3,136,815, of which 1,885,067 paid by the Municipality of Impruneta and € 1,251,748 to be borne by the Province of Florence).

"Today is an important day - said Laura Cantini, in Palazzo Medici Riccardi has also been delegated to Infrastructure - because it crosses the finish line of the first and important step for the realization of the external variant the town of Impruneta. This is an intervention in which the Province of Florence has been committed and will continue to work until the completion of the entire opera”.

“Siamo felicissimi di aver raggiunto questo obiettivo dopo tanti anni e tante difficoltà – ha affermato il Sindaco di Impruneta, Ida Beneforti – Una soddisfazione doppia, perché mentre inauguriamo questo primo lotto, sappiamo che il secondo tratto è ormai in progettazione e completamente finanziato”.

Il progetto per il secondo lotto è già stato redatto ed approvato dalla Conferenza dei Servizi e attualmente sono in fase di attivazione le procedure urbanistiche ed espropriative. L’importo complessivo di questo progetto ammonta ad 1,5 milioni di euro, finanziati in parti equal to the Province of Florence and the Municipality of Impruneta.
